Home / Membership
Three tiers. And a way to skip paying for them.
Membership makes the catalog unlimited, ad-free and offline. The rewards system makes it cheaper the more you use it — and if you contribute guides, it can pay you instead.
Quick answer
How does G20X membership work? Bronze ($4.99/month) gives ten guides a month, ad-free and offline. Silver ($9.99) makes standard guides unlimited worldwide and adds deep dives in one region. Gold ($19.99) unlocks everything everywhere, adds family sharing for four, Travelpilot deal alerts and 20% cashback on travel bookings. Annual plans cost roughly ten months. Everything you bought outright stays yours if you cancel.
Bronze, Silver, Gold
Annual billing works out at about ten months for twelve.

What every membership includes
No ads, ever
Free listening carries a short sponsor between chapters. Membership removes them entirely — that is the trade, stated plainly.
Offline everything
Download a city before the flight. Guides play in airplane mode, in tunnels and on trails.
Cashback on trips you were taking anyway
Book a hotel, car or eSIM through Travelpilot and 5–20% of the commission it pays us comes back to you as X-Credits.
A say in what we build
Members vote on the next city. Gold votes count double, and the queue is published.
Levels: earn status instead of buying it
Listening and contributing both count. Reach Legend and Gold membership is free for a month, every year you keep the level.
| Level | How you reach it | What it unlocks |
|---|---|---|
| 🧭 Explorer | Sign up | Previews everywhere, one free full guide a month |
| 📖 Storyteller | 10 guides heard, or 1 X contributed | Daily check-in rewards + your first badge |
| 🗺️ Cartographer | 10 X's contributed and published | Your own public map, plus curation priority |
| 👑 Legend | 100 guides heard, or 20 X's published | A month of Gold on the house, every year |
How points work
Points are the scoreboard. X-Credits are the currency. They are not the same thing.
Listen
One point per minute of verified listening. 500 points converts to 1 XC.
Drop an X
Fifty points when a place you submitted gets published — a viewpoint, a stall, a story about a statue.
Write or edit
Scripts you write or clean up earn a share of the listen-minute pool for as long as people play them.
Keep a streak
Seven days in a row earns 1 XC. Streaks survive one missed day a month, because holidays are not a job.
Bring a friend
100 points and 2 XC when they join and top up, 5 XC for them. Both sides, no cap.
Collect badges
Six to start with, more every season. They are on your public profile, next to the X's you put on the map.

Creators get paid from a pool, not a promise
If you write a script, record a voice or curate a region, you earn from a monthly pool built out of real revenue — advertising, credit spend, membership and pack sales. Your share is your verified listening minutes divided by everyone's, times a quality multiplier.
The ledger is append-only and every month can be recomputed from its inputs. Corrections are posted as reversing entries rather than edits, because the moment a creator cannot audit their own earnings, the whole thing stops working.
Starting split
- Platform 50% — hosting, production, payments, support
- Script creators 35% — the heaviest creative work
- Voice providers 10% — reusable, low marginal cost
- Regional curators 5% — accuracy and moderation
- AI-drafted, human-reviewed guides: the 35% goes to the regional pool
Three promises we put in writing
Hear it before you pay
Sixty seconds of every guide is free, forever, with no signup and no card. Four complete San Francisco tours are free end to end — judge the whole thing, not a teaser.
Wrong fact, full refund
If a guide states something that is not true, or the audio is broken, we refund it and fix the script. The correction goes on the page with a note — we do not quietly rewrite history.
Nothing locks you in
Cancel membership any time and keep every guide you bought outright, downloadable. X-Credits never expire. No annual contract, no cancellation maze.
Get early access — and the launch price
We are opening paid guides, packs and membership to a first group of travellers. Leave an email and you get the launch price locked for twelve months, plus five free guides on the day we switch payments on. No spam, one email when it matters.
We store your email to notify you at launch and nothing else. Unsubscribe in one click.
